Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is in the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 17 v 7-8
Many of you are probably wondering what we are going to do here in West Timor. We still do not know, and we wonder about that at times too. But what we do know is that God has a plan, and that he will do His work in His timing. We are very blessed and very happy to just be where God wants us to be at the moment.
One focus for our time now is to learn the language. We are also learning a lot about the culture here. Both what we see with our natural eyes and things that God is showing us. A lot of our time is taken up helping the children to adjust to school/kindergarten. In addition the normal things of life; like shopping etc take much more time here than what we are used to. But we still feel that this is a special time of rest for us. (Moving a whole family from Norway to Indonesia in 6 months was believe it or not very busy…)
Peter was a while ago offered a job here, teaching english at the theology department of a christian university. He is going to have a new meeting with the people there on saturday. We are not sure yet whether this is a door that God is opening for us or not. It could be a way that we could get a residence permit here. But we need to know if this is what God wants. So we would very much appreciate your prayers for this. Please pray that God would show the way clearly to us and that Peter would be able to make the right decision after the meeting on saturday.
Thank you very much 🙂
